"I cannot thank each of you enough for all your professional expertise and help in making yesterday's event such a resounding success. Our original goal was to have a simple, but elegant affair and we achieved that.

"Personally, the best part of it all was working with you three. My only regret about the passing of this event is that I will not be working so closely with all of you.

"You, and all the staff who worked behind the scenes with you, can really be proud. Please pass on my appreciation to the many people at the Pyle Center who worked behind the scenes to make this such a perfect program."

"You are amazing and I want to make sure that your supervisor knows it. I told Louise when she picked me up that I wanted to steal you away and have you run my life! Every little detail was taken care of beautifully, down to last-minute requests. International Congress on Biotechnology in the Pulp and Paper Industry
June, 2007

"When faced with the prospect of organizing an international congress for the first time in my life, I really had no idea about where to start. Fortunately a colleague told me about the conference planning staff at the University of Wisconsin-Extension. From the very start of the process, I knew that professionals were at work. They ran budgets, made reservations, gave advice, worked out schedules, menus, transportation, and registration - and minded to all the details that make tasks of this sort so difficult. Our organizing committee was free to concentrate on the scientific program. In the end - it all worked beautifully. The meeting was a resounding success and virtually everyone I spoke to commented on how well organized it all was. I can heartily recommend the University of Wisconsin-Extension Conference, Meeting, and Event Planning Staff."

Outreach Scholarship Conference 2007
October 7-9, 2007

Planning a national conference can be a daunting undertaking. The conference chair has to juggle an enormous range of details from coordinating the work of local and national committees, to managing people, personalities and politics, to overseeing the wealth of details associated with the actual conference and hotel facilities. One cannot appreciate the enormity of the workload unless one has been in the line of fire.

Fortunately for me, I was able to work with the University of Wisconsin-Extension Conference, Meeting and Event Planning Services (CME) team. They were amazing. They participated fully in conference planning committees sharing with us their wealth of expertise in negotiating with hotels and the conference facility, establishing productive timelines for critical decisions, creating seamless audio-visual procedures and providing positive support for me as conference chair. There was nothing that we asked of them that they didn't do and in fact, excelled at everything.

As conference chair, you worry about details, details, details. The CME staff were not only dependable and reliable; they anticipated every issue and question that could possibly arise. They provided us with a wealth of choices making sure that we had sufficient and accurate information on which to base decisions.

The 2007 Outreach Scholarship was a resounding success. People said it worked like a well oiled machine. One partner said it was the best conference ever! None of it would have been possible without the outstanding contributions of the CME staff. From registration through event planning and on-site coordination, their attention to detail and dedication to excellence was the bedrock on which we overlaid a marvelous array of speakers and conference sessions.

If I ever chair another national event, I will insist on working with the Extension Conference Center staff, confident that I would be working with the best.
